Let’s get to know about portal. What is portal?
Portal is broadly divided into two , one is which from where a body or object can pass through from one place to other (point A to point B) and the other is from where the object or a body can not pass but allow the eyes to traverse, allow us to see that what is on the other side of the membrane/wall .
A good example for these could be a door and a window, as our body can pass through a door but from window our body cannot pass but it allows us to see behind it.
I get to know more about this when we were asked to make a model. In which we asked to make three places or regions as ( A, B, C) and use a small thing as a body of a human which will first pass from place A to place B and can only see through place C standing in place B.
So to make this model we were a big sheet of cardboard and that cardboard was one whole place (place A) from which we had to create two places (place A and place B) by making a membrane or a wall but without the use of cardboard which means we cannot use the cardboard to make our walls. So, I decided to use the waste materials like amazon box, cold drink bottle, scotch tape and color bottle to complete the model.
After collecting all these materials I started working on the model , at first I was making a two rooms kind of structure with a door connecting the rooms from which my scaling device could pass from point A to point B and then can look outside from point C which would be a window in that room. But when I asked my friend about this, he advised me to make it little interesting so I made space from a where my scaling device will pass through a tunnel (which were made up of bottle). Which created a sense from where my scaling device can pass from point A to point B through tunnel and when it reaches point C it could look out from there.
So, this is the image of my model which I made as I told above. In this image you can get know about the portals. Here a color bottle is a scaling device which will pass through the wall which is made up of pizza box and then it will enter into a tunnel which is closed at the end by a transparent plastic sheet from where the scaling device could see beyond that.
